Enough

“My imperfections will never override God’s promises. God’s promises are not dependent on my ability to always choose well, but rather on His ability to USE well.”

  My whole life I have struggled with the feeling of not being good enough. Not winning or achieving enough, not experiencing enough, not pleasing other people enough, not having enough time to do everything asked/expected of me, not being talented enough or smart enough, etc., but these past years, being in college and finding a new normal, those feelings of not being enough consumed me. And at my rock bottom, I realized the only thing that could make me feel like I was MORE THAN ENOUGH was the never failing love the Lord has for me. 

   I think us as teen/young adult girls struggle a lot with our worth whether we realize it or not. We place our value in things like popularity, clothes, relationships, and how we look and don’t understand why we never feel completely satisfied. 

   UNTIL YOU REALIZE GOD IS ALL YOU NEED, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE WANTING MORE.

    Your clothes do not make you who you are, that boy definitely doesn’t make you who you are, that test grade does not make you who you are. GOD made you who YOU ARE!! And YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. 

   Sometimes I laugh at myself when I start to feel unworthy and realize how absolutely insulting to God it is to look at myself and think this creation God made “in His own image” is not enough. God looks at us and LOVES everything about us more then we can even comprehend. 

   We all are made with unique qualities. Before, the things I didn’t like about myself or didn’t understand made me feel unworthy or imperfect, but after giving it all to Him I see how I can use those qualities and understand my emotions and feelings to benefit myself and others and appreciate those qualities that God has given me. And THAT is what we are meant to do.

   Just because you aren’t as athletic, as smart, as talented, as them does NOT mean you aren’t good enough. Because guess what; we are not all meant to be good at the same things. Because we are all made uniquely in HIS image. Given gifts and talents we can use to serve Him!!! And that is EXCITING. Our gifts were given to us to see and appreciate and learn from Him how to use them. Do not be envious of someone else’s gift, because you have your very own. There is joy in finding and using that gift. 

    You are you, and you are beautiful. You are you, and you are YOUnique. HE is GOD and HE made you PERFECTLY. And you are blessed with gifts unique and special to you. 

   Appreciate yourself and find joy in your gifts. Take time to find joy in the sunsets and in the waters and the skies. Do not look for joy in worldly things, because you will not find it there. Find what makes you warm inside and cling to it. Find your gift and use it. Rely and TRUST in Him and only then will you know that YOU ARE ENOUGH.
